About me : )

My name is Elyah Kleinschuster. I am 20 years old and I love the Lord. I am from Northeast North Carolina and I now live in Springfield Missouri. I never thought I’d be in Missouri now but I've always said I want to travel everywhere and see everything. The Lord has just been taking me on a ride with Him. This is honestly a dream, I've always wanted to explore the world and little by little, I’m doing it!

I became a missionary when I was 18 years old after I graduated high school. I went to YWAM to pursue a discipleship program in Hawaii to then get sent to Missouri to work with INSPIRE. “Inspire Global Sisterhood” is a global movement of evangelism where we help teach women and girls how to share their faith and make sharing your faith a part of your daily lives. We want the next girl to know Jesus and the first step to do that is to share your faith! Tell someone about Jesus!

I have been with INSPIRE since February. I’m doing a small assignment with them for a year. He’s been teaching me how to share my own faith more boldly, showing me things about myself, strengthening my work ethic, and teaching me what it looks like to become a better woman of God.

This season has been so much more than a place to serve it has been an opportunity to grow, to say yes to God, and to discover what it looks like to follow Him wherever He leads.

I’m very passionate about people and what the Bible tells us to do. I love to cook and serve others. Some of my favorite things to do are making coffees, playing any kind of sport, watercoloring, journaling, going on walks, BEING FUNNY, videography, hanging out with people, and I have a lot more things but we’ll just stop there…

I’ve always tried to drive myself to be the best I possibly could for Jesus. I have a passion for so many things and have so many dreams. A few big things is that, I have a passion for traveling the world and experiencing places people haven’t been. I’d love to travel all the time to spread the gospel to people around the world. I have a dream to live in a van and bring the gospel to the people in America, go to every state, everyplace where the Lord leads and build community there. Hopefully one day I can make that dream come true. Even to live on a sail boat and sail across the sea to native islands where people can’t fly to bring the gospel.

My Story

Growing up, I never truly knew the Lord. My family went to church every Sunday, but it never meant much to me personally. I knew about God, but I didn't know Him.

As an infant, I experienced a grand mal seizure that left me with several learning disabilities. Because of that, my understanding was limited, and many everyday tasks were difficult for me. I depended on my mom for almost everything. Although I grew up in a family

of five, I often felt like she was the only person I truly had. I didn't have much of a relationship with my brothers or my dad. They had their own lives, while I relied on my mom to help me get through each day. My childhood consisted of tutoring sessions, speech therapy, and countless appointments that were meant to help me function. Because of my brain injury, I was homeschooled until fifth grade so my mom could give me the one-on-one education I needed.

My parents always taught me that God was real. They taught me to pray, to trust Him, and to believe He answered prayers. But as I grew older, I struggled to understand why He allowed me to go through so much. Why did I always feel different? Why did I constantly feel left behind? Why did I feel so alone?

For years, I prayed one simple prayer: "God, please heal my brain." I was frustrated that I couldn't function like other kids. I wanted the freedom to do what everyone else could do without thinking. More than anything, I wanted freedom from feeling trapped inside my own mind. That desperation eventually turned into depression and anxiety. I felt hopeless, wondering if this was all my life would ever be.

Then, in eighth grade, everything changed.

One night at youth group, one of my leaders walked over to me and began sharing things about my life that they couldn't have known on their own. God had revealed to her what I had been going through. They spoke about my past, the pain I had carried for years, and how God was going to bring healing and completely change my life. I was overwhelmed.

For the first time, I truly encountered the presence of God.

I had never experienced His love like that before. For the first time, I felt seen. I felt heard. I felt deeply loved. That night, it felt like years of pain, frustration, and hopelessness were finally being lifted off my shoulders.

God kept His promise.

Over the next two years, He began transforming every part of my life. As I pursued a relationship with Him, He brought healing in ways I never imagined possible. He set me free from fear, anxiety, and so many lies I had believed about myself. The Lord also started to restore my relationship with my brothers. It was a dream come true. Who knew that they’d become my favorite people ever and my best friends.

Little by little, I learned what it meant to surrender everything to Him. Instead of trying to carry my life on my own, I learned to let go and let God. By His grace, I graduated high school in just three years with a 4.0 GPA. The girl who once believed she wasn't smart enough had watched God completely rewrite her story.

After graduating, I attended YWAM (Youth With A Mission), where I completed a Discipleship Training School. During those months, I fell even more in love with Jesus. I grew in my understanding of who He is, learned how to seek Him more deeply, and developed an even greater passion for sharing the Gospel.

God also gave me a heart for missions. I want people everywhere to know that they are children of the Most High God. I want them to know that Jesus loves them so deeply that He willingly gave His life on the cross for them. He carried our sin, our shame, and our brokenness so that we could experience true life in Him.

I know what it's like to feel hopeless. I know what it's like to wonder if life will ever change. Because God rescued me, I want others to know that He can rescue them too.

There are so many people around the world who have never heard the name of Jesus or who are searching for hope in things that can never truly satisfy. My prayer is that they would encounter the One who is the Truth because the truth sets us free. I believe God has called me to missions to go wherever He leads and love people the way He first loved me.

Looking back, I realize that my heart for people was born out of my own story. As a child, I often questioned whether I was loved or whether anyone truly understood me. Today, I have a deep desire for every person I meet to know they are seen, valued, and deeply loved by God.

If I could erase the pain from my childhood, I honestly don't know if I would. Those difficult years shaped me into the person I am today. They gave me compassion for people who are hurting and a passion to tell them about the hope I've found in Jesus.

God didn't just transform my life—He transformed my family too. We are not the same people we once were. He met each of us in personal ways, and His faithfulness changed the direction of our lives. Without Him, I honestly don't know where I would be today.

For a long time, I kept my story to myself because I was ashamed of it. But God never calls us to hide what He has done. He calls us to make disciples, to share our faith, and to tell others about His goodness.

This blog is one of the ways I want to do that.

I want to be vulnerable because I believe God can use my story to encourage someone else. Maybe you're reading this and you've never felt seen. Maybe you're carrying pain that no one else knows about. Maybe you've convinced yourself that your story is too broken for God to use.

I want you to know that it isn't.

The same God who met me in my brokenness can meet you in yours.

Following Jesus looks different for each of us, but He simply asks for our "yes."

So give Him yours.

Let Him become your rock, your refuge, and your resting place.

He changed my life.

And I believe He can change yours too.
